Visual Arts Review Robert Nelson
The AGE - Wednesday 30 March 2005
"...Comrade's Reward, a delightful celebratory cornucopia
of a boy, spilling out
of his own pose with muscle and narcissism. The profuse campness
of this
excessive work - with its giant tongue-like hat in reference to Donatello's
famously naked David offsets the straightness of the solid mansion
behind it.
...the Adonis - grabbing his scrotal bags of wheat for naughty fun - is
undoubtedly
happy shedding his seed outside the economy of production." |
